About Liz

Liz Gateley is an Oscar-winning producer who has transformed some of the most culturally-impactful brands, including MTV and Lifetime, through groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed content.
Gateley was one of the few women to run a major cable network at Lifetime, adding YOU, Surviving R. Kelly, Academy Award-Winning Learning to Skateboard in a War Zone (If You’re a Girl) and UnReal to her list of achievements.
Gateley is perhaps best known for creating the game-changing hit, Laguna Beach, and it’s spin-offs The Hills, and The City during her 9 year tenure at MTV. Gateley also developed and produced 16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom, Teen Wolf, Scream, Ridiculousness, Run's' House, Human Giant, America's Best Dance Crew, Jersey Shore and Wild 'N Out, discovering talent such as Aziz Ansari and Dylan O'Brien.
Gateley has a passion for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, developing several initiatives at Lifetime to achieve greater gender parity and diversity behind the camera. Gateley has the rare combination of excellent creative instincts, tremendous management and leadership skills and deep relationships across the entertainment business.
