Scott’s practice focuses on venture capital, mergers & acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures transactions as well as general corporate and business matters.

Scott is a leading venture attorney, representing both venture funds, angel investors and emerging growth technology companies through their lifecycle. Notable venture fund clients include Energy Impact Partners and Edison Partners. Scott has extensive transactional experience in software, energy tech, e-commerce, entertainment, financial services, life science, medical devices, music, music publishing and aviation. He divides his time between the firm’s New York and Los Angeles offices.

Scott’s experience extends to corporate restructuring transactions, representing secured and unsecured creditors, investors, company executives and boards of directors in restructuring and reorganization proceedings, as well as purchasers and sellers of distressed assets.

Prior to joining the firm as a member in 1999, Scott practiced with Covington & Burling (formerly Howard, Darby & Levin) focusing on general corporate and transactional matters.

Scott is a frequent speaker and panelist on issues affecting the venture capital markets and has lectured on corporate law with the New York City Bar Association CLE Program.  Scott also serves on the advisory board of investment funds.
