Scott is a leading venture capital attorney, representing investment funds, family offices and both emerging and growth stage companies through their lifecycle. In addition to his venture capital work, Scott’s practice also focuses on mergers & acquisitions, strategic exits and private equity transactions, both in the United States and in Europe. Notable venture fund clients include Energy Impact Partners, Kimmeridge and Edison Partners. He has extensive transactional experience in energy tech, cleantech, software, cyber-security, e-commerce, entertainment & music, financial services, life science and aviation transactions. He divides his time between the firm’s New York City and Los Angeles offices.
Prior to joining the firm as a partner in 1999, Scott practiced with Covington & Burling (formerly Howard, Darby & Levin) focusing on general corporate and transactional matters.
Scott is a frequent lecturer and panelist on issues affecting the venture capital markets and emerging companies. He has lectured on corporate law with the New York City Bar Association CLE Program and regularly speaks to emerging companies through accelerator programs in both New York and Los Angeles.
