Scott represents both privately and publicly held companies in a wide variety of corporate matters including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, business reorganizations, capital markets and joint-venture transactions. Scott has extensive transaction experience in the following sectors: technology & e-commerce, financial services, life science & medical devices, music and music publishing, advertising, real estate, cannabis and aviation & aerospace.
Scott also advises investment funds in connection with portfolio investments and realization events, and merchant banks and private equity investors in connection with buy-out transactions. Notable investment fund representations include Global Healthcare Partners, Edison Ventures, King Street Capital and Osage Venture Partners.
Scott's experience also extends to corporate restructuring transactions, in connection with which he represents secured and unsecured creditors, investors, company executives and board members in restructuring and reorganization proceedings, as well as purchasers of assets of distressed companies.
Prior to joining the firm as a member in 1999, Scott practiced with Covington & Burling (formerly Howard, Darby & Levin) focusing on general corporate and transactional work, following an internship at the New York office of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s enforcement division.
Scott has lectured on corporate law with the New York City Bar Association CLE Program.
