Bio
Jocelyn L. Jacobson was born
in New York, New York. She was admitted to the bar in
New York in 1990 and is admitted to practice in the United
States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern
Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals
for the Second Circuit. She joined Fried, Frank,
Harris, Shriver & Jacobson as a litigation associate in
1989. In 1996 and 1997 she worked on several political
campaigns and in 1998 she joined the Office of the Manhattan
Borough President. Jocelyn worked there until 2003,
first as the Director of Policy and then as the Director of
Policy and Budget.
Jocelyn joined the firm as a
litigation associate in 2003 and became a partner of the
firm in 2009.
Jocelyn is a
member of the E-Discovery Working Group for the New York
State Court System. The E-Discovery Working Group consists
of lawyers, judges and academics throughout New York State
and has been formed to provide assistance as New York State
courts address the many electronic discovery issues that
arise in litigation. The Working Group will help develop
educational materials, identify best practices, evaluate
pilot programs and monitor trends.
Jocelyn is an arbitrator in Small Claims
Court and is a member of the New York Women’s Bar
Association.
